Tambo is on the Landsborough Highway and is the halfway point between Mount Isa and Brisbane it is easily accessible by road. From the north you can travel from Alpha to Tambo. Tambo offers the visitor a glimpse into the past, with its lovingly restored buildings, but offers the traveller the all the modern conveniences.

Bus Queensland  operates daily from Brisbane to Mount Isa.

QantasLink fly between Brisbane and Blackall three times a week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Qantas fly between  Brisbane to Charleville 7 days a week.

Spirit of the Outback train -  Service is available from Brisbane to Rockhampton to Barcaldine.

The Westlander Departs Brisbane - Tuesday and Thursday at 7.15pm and Departs Charleville Wednesday and Friday 6.15pm
